Turkey's Top 500 IT Companies 2019 Survey results were announced for the 21st time this year with attendance of the Information Technology Companies that made significant contributions to development of Turkey and the business world in all areas. The ceremony was held in a digital environment with its stands, stand attendants, information area and panels.

The opening speeches of the "Turkey's Top 500 IT Companies 2019" award ceremony, which brought together important names and institutions from every field of the sector, were made by President of the Digital Transformation Office Dr. Ali Taha Koç, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Dr. Ömer Fatih Sayan, Presidential Economic Policies Board Member Dr. Hakan Yurdakul, Kuika and System Optima President Süreyya Ciliv and Koç System General Manager Mehmet Ali Akarca.

AKGÜN Group, which made its name with operations in 81 provinces of Turkey, undertakes major projects in five countries in Health, Defense, Education and Telecommunication sectors. AKGÜN Group won the first prize in Health Sector Software Category in the "Top 500 IT Companies Awards Ceremony” with its activities and investments for prominent and high-tech Digital Hospital Solutions and Artificial Intelligence Products such as X-Eye: Toraks Computer Aided Diagnosis in Lung X-Ray Images, X-Eye: Mammo Breast Cancer Decision Support System and iVital Intensive Care Management System.

In the research that determined the top 500 IT companies of 2019, along with the first prize in the "Health Sector Software Category", AGÜN also ranked; 131st according to the sales revenues, in the top 3 in Artificial Intelligence category, in the top 9 in Sectoral Software-Defense category, in the top 13 in Turkey Centered Producer - Software - Sectoral Software category, in the top 15 in IT 500 Plus Companies Making R&D Investments category, and in the top 18 in Turkey Centered Manufacturer - Software category among the candidate companies. 

AKGUN also took place in the lists of Turkey Centered Manufacturer, Turkey Centered Manufacturer - Hardware and Turkey's Top 500 IT Companies 2019 (by Revenue). Having received a total of 10 awards, AKGUN crowned its success once again.

AKGUN Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Temel AKGÜN emphasized the importance of digitalization in his speech at the award ceremony. Mr. Akgün said, “Health is the most important thing in the whole world and as a country, we proudly passed this challenging test during the Covid-19 pandemic, where all infrastructure and digitalization had to be reviewed. We are very happy to be awarded in the Health Informatics category "AS A GLOBAL BRAND OF TURKEY, WE HAVE BEEN CONTINUOUSLY CONTRIBUTING TO THE TURKISH ECONOMY AND HEALTH SECTOR FOR OVER 34 YEARS WITH OUR INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS AND PRODUCTS.”

He also added, “The results obtained in this study are a reference for the industry. This success belongs to all people of AKGUN, who engage around the same purpose, work with enthusiasm and, lead the transformation… As an IT company that produces its own technology, we will continue to work with all our strength to become a "global" technology brand of Turkey”. Mr. AKGUN at the end of his speech thanked the company employees, BT Haber Group and all our stakeholders and congratulated all the companies that received awards.
