Due to Covid-19, declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization, many more patients worldwide require intensive care treatment than usual. In the critical period between life and death, it is important to closely monitor the vital functions of the patients, especially their respiratory and circulatory conditions. In intensive care units, a life battle is fought through advanced machines that pump drugs into the body and help patients to breathe and carry out other basic functions.

Many innovative projects are implemented by the Ministry of Health in order to increase the quality of life in treatment, to balance the health financing burden and to ensure that health services are carried out more effectively and rapidly. Henceforth, it is aimed to increase the level of digitalization in intensive care units where healthcare processes are the most critical, and to improve the medical support processes offered to patients by the decision support algorithms developed. Furthermore, it is planned to automatically capture the patient vital signs and data of medical devices (ventilator, bedside monitor, blood gas analyzer, infusion pump set etc.), processing, converting and interpreting all data and transforming it into usable information by integrating with all Health Information Management System software working in hospitals within the scope of interoperability principles, establishing a structure to centrally monitor intensive care data and forming a teleconsultation infrastructure between physicians in hospitals all over our country.

In line with the specified needs, the Ministry of Health decided that "Intensive Care Information Management System" software should be installed in all health facilities including public, private and university hospitals with intensive care units throughout the country, and that it should be used compulsorily in tertiary intensive care units and announced this decision to all relevant institutions and organizations.

AKGÜN iVital Intensive Care Automation System

Carrying out domestic and national production and R&D studies, AKGÜN once again proved that it is the pioneer of the health sector. With our high R&D and scientific Intensive Care Automation System product, which we developed in 2017 with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TUBITAK, we transferred all processes in intensive care units to the digital environment. The product facilitates the work of healthcare professionals by making the patient data traceable, manageable and measurable. As the first company to obtain the registration certificate from the Ministry of Health with our user-friendly intensive care system, we will bring a different face to our hospitals.

With AKGUN iVital Health Information Communication Platform, physiological data produced by various devices in Intensive Care Units can be stored in a single repository, virtualized according to certain criteria, instantly examined by responsible doctors and/or nurses, and based on these vital signs various score calculations can be performed for each patient. Furthermore, it is provided to calculate the vital data trends of the patient with the determined periods on the stored data, and to transmit the early alarms and warnings to the responsible doctors and nurses on the basis of previously defined criteria.
